The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network wants everyone to be aware of food allergies. Roughly 1-in-25 Americans–are now believed to be affected by food allergy and 90% of these allergies are caused by 8 foods: soy, tree nuts, peanuts, shellfish, fish, eggs, dairy products and wheat.
If you are allergic to food products, be sure to read labels and know all the forms your food-nemesis might be listed under. For instance, eggs might not always be just eggs. Also be on the look out for egg whites, egg yolks, and albumen.
