For about the last year, my eyelids have been breaking out whenever I eat anything with yeast or beef in it. I have a known food allergy to these, but don't always feel like avoiding them for various reasons (mainly, they taste good!) They aren't analytic inducing reactions like other things I'm allergic to, so I put up with the side effects on occasion. Unfortunately, this means I get some eczema around my mouth and across my eyelids. Mostly the skin gets red, swells, and itches and then flakes off a few days later. Kinda gross, but not the end of the world.
What I have found seems to be a really good "preventative measure" is to keep the skin really moisturized. If I put heavy duty lotion on this several times a day when I eat bread or something, it seems to help break the inflammation cycle. The best things seem to have vitamin E oil in them. My latest concoction at home is canola oil, sesame oil and vitamin E oil. The canola oil is proportionately way more than either the sesame or Vitamin E oil. It also has some salt in it, but that's another story. I don't think that either helps or hurts it.
